Job Title: Observer Department: Certification Reports To: Certification Manager / Lead Auditor Job Summary The Observer participates in audit activities for training, witness, or evaluation purposes without direct involvement in the audit process or decision-making. The Observer ensures compliance with accreditation requirements, maintains impartiality, and upholds confidentiality while gaining exposure to auditing practices and management system assessments according to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 22000:2018, ISO 27001:2022, and ISO 20000-1 standards. Key Authorities • Attend and observe audit activities as assigned. • Take notes and record observations for learning or evaluation purposes. • Report any issues or concerns to the Lead Auditor or Certification Manager. • Maintain confidentiality of all information obtained during audits. Key Responsibilities • Observe audit activities without interfering with the process or influencing audit outcomes. • Familiarize with audit procedures, protocols, and management system standards. • Participate in opening and closing meetings as a non-participating attendee. • Take notes for personal learning, training, or evaluation, as permitted. • Adhere to company policies, accreditation requirements, and client confidentiality agreements. • Provide feedback to the Lead Auditor or Certification Manager if requested. • Complete any observer checklists, reports, or feedback forms as required. • Maintain professional behavior and impartiality at all times. • Attend relevant training or briefings prior to observation activities. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Science, Business Administration, Information Technology) preferred. • No prior auditing experience required; previous exposure to management systems or auditing is an advantage. • Good observation and note-taking abilities. • Willingness to learn and follow instructions. • Strong ethical standards and respect for confidentiality. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
